First Congregational Church

In 1906 this congregation was led by Henry Hugh Proctor, one of the Black leaders who met with white civic leaders in the days after the massacre. In September 2023 the Fulton County Remembrance Coalition and the Equal Justice Initiative held a candlelight memorial here for the victims and for the residents of Darktown, who turned a mob back from their neighbourhood.
